Another card to take for the OWH project..

I am still playing around with the Happy Trails stamp set...I do not have any of the Postage stamp sets from PTI, but I did buy their pad of paper.  The "thinking of you" stamp is from Borders and Circles and the wavy lines is actually for a stamp that I bought that has my name and address on it, getting the wave was a free addition...it turned out perfect for what I had in mind.  The stamped envelope is from the Friendship Jar - Spring Fillers...don't you love the little 'splatter' of ink??  This is a pretty easy and simple card and I love the pen being a die cut...just adds that little extra something...thanks for looking!

Happy Trails

Happy Trails is another new set from PTI (do you get the feeling that I really like Papertrey Stamps?)  And that is why I am making a trip to Cincinnati this Wednesday....I get to go to the PTI Stamp "A" Faire...only 200 lucky people were able to get tickets...we get to meet the owners and 5 of the designers and make some cards that they have designed for us...we will get a bag of goodies...a free stamp set, I know for sure...they have a full day planned for us and then a wonderful dessert later in the evening and more goodies will be given away...I can hardly wait!  And my BFF, Linda from Seattle is coming down here and we are flying out together!  Oh, you can bet we will have the time of our life.  I haven't been able to make as many cards for the OWH (Operation Write Home) project that I would like, but I will have maybe 20 cards...I hadn't inked up the Happy Trails set yet, so I thought I would play with that and make a couple of cards for that project.
I used the Martha Stewart scoring pad to score a couple of lines on the bottom and top of the sentiment.
I think these cards might say just what the service men/women want to say to the special person they are sending a card to...this stamp set is so cute...it has a paper airplane, a dragonfly, a pencil, old fashioned ink pen, and a feather...lots of things that leave a "trail"...and it has really cute sentiments too like:  you color my world; let your dreams take flight, keep in touch...and I like this one:  A bird does not sing because it has an answer, It sings because it has a song.!

Hope you enjoyed the cards.

Botanical Silhouettes

The FREE PTI anniversary set is called Botanical Silhouettes and it has the loveliest flowers in it...I adore Poppies...red especially is my favorite...but then I have some really gorgeous salmon colored ones in my daughter's garden (and I say:  I have some...because they are living in our old house! so technically, I planted them and nurtured them...and actually I just trimmed them down for her hoping to get another blooming out of them!).  Here is another card that will to the Operation Write Home project.
I stamped a strip of the Basic Background:  Gingham in black on white paper and added that to the side...tied a red twine around a couple of times and added the sentiment and called it good...actually the red cardstock is also embossed with a PTI linen embossing die.

A Long Line - Up of Cards

Not a lot of card playing time...except late at night...I seem to get my mojo and motivation going when all is quiet in the house....busy during the day with "life", kids, grandkids, older parents, business, new business...you all get the drift...anyway...I was one of the very very lucky ones to snag a ticket (actually TWO...one for a friend) to the PTI Stamping "A" Faire in just over a week!  Way last winter when Nichole announced on her blog that PTI would be attending the CHA in Chicago, my friend and I immediately agreed we would go and turn it into a little get-away-vacation and see the sites of the Windy City.  So we jumped on getting hotel reservations...you know, before the rooms were all gone...my husband was kind enough to get us airline tickets to Chicago using miles...First Class even!!  So we were set and so looking forward to this trip.  Then the bottom fell out of the bag...PTI decided NOT to attend the Chicago CHA (and for very good reasons) we sat on our tickets awaiting news from PTI about having their own mini convention...So my friend and I hung in there...stressing at times...until finally the big announcement: The PTI Stamping "A" Faire would be an all day retreat...in Cincinnati!!  On a specific day at a specific time (7 AM Pacific Time) we had to log on and try to be one of 200 to purchase limited tickets for this event.  And I was successful!!  And we were really lucky to find a wonderful follower of PTI who was also lucky enough to get a ticket and she lives in Chicago and offered to drive us to Cincinnati along with Taheerah (from the forum...Little Miss T) and also Amber (Damask Love is her blog) so the five of us will head out Friday morning from Chicago to Cincinnati...What a trip this will be!  Meeting new friends, meeting the designers...that is like Movie Stars to me...they are so talented, I am hoping some of their talent will rub off on me!!  Long story short...(since it hasn't been too short leading up to this..) PTI asked us to make cards for Operation Write Home and they will be giving away 'goodies' at this stamping retreat and I believe that for every card we donate, our name will be added to the drawing...so it benefits everyone to make cards...so that has been my goal late at night to make easy CAS cards (I have copied and hope, selectively edited cards from other bloggers or designers) to send overseas...Without further ado...here they are (with a few personal birthday cards thrown into the mix)

Make it Monday - polaroid technique
I have more, but really they are just duplicates of ones already posted.  thanks for taking a peek
