Color Me with Team Hayley

I chose Team Haley's color scheme for my first try
Wow, the picture sure came out brighter than real life.
I used PTI Berry sorbet and Enchanted Evening.
I made the plaid using Plaid Builders and the flowers are PTI Vintage Linen.
You can go to Color Me to play along with this challenge.

We are back into the 100's friends, good time to just stay indoors and get inky, wouldn't you  say?

Thanks for stopping by and spending a minute or two with me!

Seize the Birthday July 30, Embossing of any kind

July is coming to an end and we have another challenge up on the
We also have a TOPPING if you would like to participate with that challenge.
The Topping this time is to have any kind of embossing on your card!
I have a one layer card that I masked with a circle, then stamped some starbursts (actually the center of flowers from the PTI Funky Florals stamp set. and after they were stamped I went back in with a little distress ink (antique linen).  I did add some sequins and a twine at the top.  Can you see my embossing folder?  After I stamped everything I ran it through with the Sizzix EF that has flowers all over it.  It looks pretty cool in real life!
So the TOPPING IS ANY KIND OF EMBOSSING
or you can make any kind of birthday card you would like!
We look forward to seeing your cards in the gallery!

MIM # 219 Texture Kissing

is up and Lizzie has the video showing texture on your stamped image by using the kissing technique.

I used "Bloomers" and "Embellishments" for the "kiss"!
the leaves are from Vintage Linen and you can barely tell, but I used Polka Dot Basics kissed to the leaves, the bottom leaf at least shows a few dots!
I wanted to add that I used the "doodling" technique to frame my images!
Thanks for taking a look!
Have a good week!

Merry Monday ~ Hearts ~

is up and going for two weeks, the inspiration is "HEARTS"
I sponged on some distress inks and then I used the PTI Rustic Wreath stamp and die to make my wreath, which I colored with copics.
The rest of the card is made using Lawn Fawn's Snow Day stamp set.
I used a little glossy accents on the big heart.
Thanks for taking a look!

Creat Along With Us ~ another card!

I love just about everything Laura Bassen does..and this card below was no exception.  She used the new Vintage Linens...I used a poppy stamps set from Clearly Besotted.  She used the new embroidered borders and I used the Sprinkles and Shakers Kit die cut...I really like how the flowers get "framed".

Create Along With Us

I couldn't resist making another card that Betsy Veldman showed on one of the release days, here it is:
Sweet-honey
And then my BFF made a card for the challenge and this is it:

I loved her soft look and the nice soft light blue background, but of course I had to change it up and go for bold and bright!
I used the exact same flowers and the bees, too!
I stamped my flowers using the Hero Arts Ombre ink, lilac to grape.
Distress ink, squeezed lemonade was used for the sponging around the edges.
I have a very sweet and dear friend whose birthday is on Monday and thought she would like this card.
Even though this card cannot be entered in the challenge, I LOVE the idea of CASing the designers cards during the release!
Thanks for stopping by and taking a look!

PTI "Create Along with Us"!

is a new challenge up during Papertrey Release when there is no MIM.
I actually used a sketch based on a card made by Betsy Veldman during this release.
Striking-birthday
When I got home from a 3 week vacation, my  package from PTI was here...it took me a few days to dig into it, but I decided to give the "Bloomers" a try with the sketch.  I even used a color recipe for the card also.

What a great idea, PTI!
We surely do miss the MIM, but know how time consuming it is to make a video and  prepare a card for us.  This is a fantastic addition to keep the weekly challenge going!

Seize the Birthday July 16 no topping

Welcome to another Seize the Birthday Challenge!
There is NO topping this time, so make anything you want!

I was reminded about a fun technique that Jennifer McGuire did HERE
about "Spotlight Die Cutting" and Brenda from Inkspired to Stamp reminded me.  I told her I was going to CAS her card because I really liked it!

I had a piece of watercolor paper on my desk and decided to use that for my die cut balloon.
The sentiments and balloon dies are from SSS Birthday Balloons.
The square die cut is MFT stitched mat.

We look forward to seeing what you make for this challenge!

You can always go with ANYTHING as long as it is a birthday card!
I used PTI's Wishes Come True and die cut and stamped my candles with the red and blue.
I added some pony beads that I had melted down.

Topping is RED, WHITE AND BLUE

A Special Birthday!

Edited because I am on vacation and apparently so is my brain!!
Darnell's birthday was July 2nd...I did mail her a card and I am sure she got it on her birthday, but then I totally forgot to post it here!  Sorry Darnell...my brain is fried...here in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, on the lake with 12 family members in a three bedroom condo!  some days are pretty wild and crazy, but the kiddos live in the lake...Let me tell you though, when they come dripping out at 9:30 at night, they sure sleep good!

Happy Birthday Darnell!!
In honor of this special day,
I have a special card to share with you!
Don't you just love "Hammy"?
I am not sure if this is his right color, but I thought he was pretty cute.
And I think the Red Velvet cake looked pretty yummy too!

Happy Birthday, Dear Darnell,
thank you for bringing such joy and laughter into this blog land of ours.
I love your stories and love getting to know you through your stories!  Have a most fantabulous day EVER!
Heart Hugs,
Colleen
