MIM # 269 Embossed & Outlined Backgrounds

Welcome friends, I have a card for this week's MIM which was a fun one to do, you can see Betsy's video HERE.  This card was made using PTI Peaceful Poinsettia.  The sentiment is from Wet Paint: Holiday. This was actually my second card for this challenge.  Below is my first card, but when I held it up and asked my husband what he saw, he replied, "catterpillars"!  WHAT???  so then I sent the picture to my BFF and she said "Christmas cactus".  Clearly I didn't want to post this, because it is suppose to be holly leaves, but I think your eye is drawn to the green and then I agree it does look 'weird', which is kind of why I brought it to my husband in the first place.  If you focus on the white you can see holly leaves...so this one is NOT going anywhere!  Ha ha!
You win some, you lose some...back to the drawing board!

Just Us Girls Challenge # 372 ~ Christmas Trees

This could have been our Christmas tree if we had cut it down today because  we got snow!!  But it is gone now!  It didn't last very long.  Sure was pretty coming down though!
This is a Tim Holtz stencil...a two layer so I could sponge on some distress ink, then added Distress Grit-Paste on the top layering stencil...so pretty, then I smeared a bit under the trees too, just because they needed to be grounded!
My sentiment is from Concord & 9th O Christmas Tree.
This card is for Just Us Girls Challenge # 372, they are looking for Christmas Trees.

Merry Monday with Candy Canes # 225!

Hi Friends!
I hope you will join us at the Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge because we only have two more after this one to help you get your cards completed before Christmas!
Our theme was chosen by Linda this time and she is looking for CANDY CANES!
I masked off part of my card and sponged on some pinks for an ombre look.  Then I took some smaller stamps (holly and berries) from the SOA Candy Cane Lane and stamped over the sponged background.  I die cut two canes and a bow for the card.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set!

Make It Monday #268: Double-Layer Tags

So happy to see Dawn back creating, if only for a short time.
I know she is going through her own health crisis now and praying a solution and decision can be made that will help her to heal.
I used the Tags # 8 for my double Layers.
My bottom layer was a piece that I had made from an MIM a while ago where I brushed on two colors in opposite directions to give it a linen texture look.  My What the Doodle: Ornament was die cut from a scrap piece of water colored paper.

Thanks for stopping and taking a look!

Merry Monday with a masculine twist!

Hi Friends!  Today Kathy is looking for a masculine Christmas card at the Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge and I couldn't resist the Elk/deer head from Stamp of Approval called Hip Holiday.
I think my SIL has 1 elk, 3 deer and 2 deer racks mounted on his wall in what we call his "man cave". (you really have to watch where you are walking in this room!  LOL!)
My background is made with the Peppermint Stick Background stamp by SOA also.
The sentiment is from The Ton: Holiday Flourishes.

We only have three more challenges after this week to help you get your Christmas stash done in time to mail out this year...then we are taking a little break and will return after the first of the year.  I hope you will join us this week in this masculine Christmas card  challenge!

25 Days of Christmas Tags ~ DAY 26!!

Yeah, Tracey has one more day and the sponsor is Stamplorations!!
Head over to the 25 Days of Christmas Tags and see all the amazing tags!
I used Karola's tag for inspiration and pulled out this little stamp a friend gave me from Deep Red called Holiday Candles!
This is a perfect tag stamp!  And so easy to color with copics, then added liquid pearls for the flame and the berries and a little WOS on the holly leaves!

25 Days of Christmas Tags ~ DAY 25!!

The last Day of Tracey's 25 Days of Christmas Tags and today I am listening to Christmas music on the radio!!
I was inspired by many tags from Jilli Bean Soup, Jill's especially touched my heart with the church.  I inked up PTI Holiday Home and die cut the small church, perfect size for this tag.

I may just make a few more...that little house with the trees is really cute too!!
Today though I need to finish up a big project...making wooden spool ornaments that I saw last year on Amy Sheffer's blog.
I am making about 70 of them to give as gifts at our annual Women's Bible Study Christmas Luncheon.  My kitchen is a mess, I must get it cleaned up, we are having our Thanksgiving Feast on Sunday!

Have a great weekend!  Happy Black Friday, I am going to let my fingers do the walking this year...no big crowds for me!

25 Days of Christmas Tags ~ Day 13

The 25 Days of Christmas Tags ~ Day 13 is sponsored by Li'l Inkers!
I used Laura Pryor's tag for inspiration.  I used the same Li'l Inker bells and did a little water coloring on my tag.

This is my last tag for playing catch-up, so tomorrow is Day 25 and the last day of this challenge.  It has been fun, would have been better had I not been gone for 10 days in the middle, but I persevered and got 'er done!
Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
